The Pomology Project

General Public

The Pomology Project is a two year contemporary art project by General Public, which explores ideas of diversity through reimagining British orchard traditions, looking particularly at the heritage of what we consider to be ‘traditional’ British fruits, many of which are descended from central Asian ancestors.

Using drawings made by children in workshops with General Public as a starting point, we produced an illustrated tree, laden with ‘speculative fruit’, which acts as a diagram of sorts for the various branches of the artistic programme.

Type is all set in Laica A, by Dinamo.

Print by Emmerson Press.
