Fiction As Method
B Format book, 372 pages
Typeface by Wei Huang
An anthology of texts dealing with uses of fiction in an art context. Edited by Theo Reeves-Evison and Jon K. Shaw, and including contributions from Tim Etchells, Erica Scourti and Simon O’Sullivan amongst others.
The design relies heavily on Pantasia, one of Wei Huang’s bootleg typefaces – itself a kind of typographic fiction. Huge thanks to Wei for both the type and his thoughtful advice on how to use it.
Divider pages and pull quotes feature arbitrary marks given the appearance of being solid objects, a metaphor for fiction’s ability to build believable realities from nothing.
Thanks also to David Rowan for the photographs.
