Reimaging Donald Rodney

240 x 170mm booklet
Ian Sergeant

Produced to accompany an exhibition at Vivid Projects curated by Ian Sergeant, featuring the work of Donald Rodney, considered to be one of the most important artists of his generation. Rodney’s work examined race, society, and his own medical condition through painting, installation, audio, robotics, film and archive material. The booklet cover features an image of Rodney’s John Barnes, a lightbox featuring a photo of Barnes backheeling a banana which had been thrown at him by Everton fans in a racist incident.

Donald Rodney died from sickle-cell anaemia in March 1998, aged 37.
